Process Solutions’ Hydrocarbon and Energy Industry Center has
over a quarter century of gas plant automation, maintenance, and performance
improvement. |
| |
| The
Challenge |
  |
Many
mature gas processing plants were originally designed to handle fixed
throughput and composition inlets. Their early pneumatic and electronic
control systems were designed for ease of operation, rather than maximum
plant profitability. Over the years, some plants were expanded one
unit at a time, with short-term, low-cost control solutions that did
not consider the unit interoperability or optimization of the entire
plant. Today, these plants have multiple variable-load, variable-composition
inlet streams and a legacy of obsolete, maintenance-prone, and safety-compromised
control devices. These facilities are operating in a new environment
of constantly changing gas and liquid pricing. These plants must:
• improve their competitive advantage and mitigate safety risks
• accurately meter and allocate plant production
• determine the most profitable production and processing strategies
on a day-to-day basis in response to today’s volatile gas and
liquids pricing

| The
Solution |
 |
We offer a comprehensive gas plant optimization program that extracts
maximum, real-time profit from our customers’ plants. Our proven
program consists of four phases:
• Phase 1 begins with a walk through of the plant to identify
potential opportunities and quantify potential economic benefits.
This gated approach screens opportunities to ensure appropriate focus
and provide optimum value.
• Phase 2 is a detailed study that identifies strategies to
maximize profitability. Here, we present benefits, costs, and a performance-based
offer to realize the economics.
• Phase 3 is the implementation of our robust suite of control
strategies, economic models, and real-time performance indicators.
It also includes any control system and instrumentation enhancements
required to optimize the value identified in the study.
• Phase 4 is our ongoing support of the optimized plant, if
required. This ensures our customers continue to have a competitive
advantage. |

|
|
| |
Our
cost-effective and user-friendly suite of proven solutions handles
the load swings and composition variability of our customers’
plants with industry-standard control system products. Our real-time
performance indicators provide the operator with economic and operation
metrics that are easy to understand. This ensures that important business
decisions are made in a timely matter.
We enable our customers’ plants to respond to market conditions
in real time. This ensures optimized fuel and electric energy use,
increased liquids recovery, reduced product give away, reduced environmental
emissions, and efficient use of operations and maintenance personnel.
The end result is that the gas plant becomes efficient and responsive
in a continuously changing production, processing, and downstream
demand environment. We guarantee these results.
